Temptation is all around us, testing us as even Jesus was tested. No one is above temptation or the potential to sin, 1 (John 1:8). Temptation comes in many forms, often through those near and around us. When we give into temptation and sin, we often have to pay a high price. We lose our freedom, dignity, honor, peace and joy. Abram’s call and blessing from God was a big one, big enough to be felt through all the ages. God called Abram, and Abram in faith, responded to the call quickly. Just by responding favorably to God’s call, God provided him with the great blessing and made him a blessing to others. Read more »
God’s core message to you and me from the cross is, “I love you”. Every time we look at the cross we must gratefully remember in the depths of our soul how great is God’s love for us. But I am afraid many of us have lost the focus of God’s message to us. Many people view Jesus only as a good man, great teacher, miracle worker and provider of our needs and not as the Lord of all creation and the Savior of humankind. Read more »
God still performs miracles every day, but most of them simply go unnoticed or are denied. Some of us refuse to repent and believe, even after we have seen many miracles. Read more »
Paul says that those who are living "in the flesh," that is, those whose thoughts, attitudes, words, deeds and purposes are controlled by their flesh, are unable to please God. Even their best works will never be seen by God as works for God’s glory, if they have been produced for selfish or self-centered reasons. Read more »
