Despite our devotion, beliefs, religious observances, obedience and faithfulness to the Lord all of us could be afflicted with pain and suffering at some point in life. The divisions within our church remain the test of our true love and devotion to God. Paul’s exhortation to the Corinthians is a powerful reminder that we should not take our eyes off God no matter what the differences are. Our faith should be strong in God. Lent is a wonderful time that brings us closer to God. It provides us with the opportunity to renew our relationship with God and others. It is a forty day journey to the memorial of the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.
